skills network.

In recent years, Limerick has also become a hub for technology and software companies, attracting highly skilled workers in areas such as software development, data analysis, and digital marketing.

The region has a strong educational offering at both further and higher levels including:
- University of Limerick (UL): Established in 1972, UL is a young, energetic and enterprising university with a proud record of innovation in education and excellence in research and scholarship. Its beautiful riverside campus is located just 5km from Limerick city centre.
- Technological University of the Shannon (TUS): Is an institution of higher education in Limerick, which offers courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in a range of disciplines including engineering, science, business, humanities and art and design.
- Mary Immaculate College: Founded in 1898, Mary Immaculate College (MIC) is the oldest third-level institution in Limerick. It is a Catholic College of Education and the Liberal Arts and offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes.
- Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board: LCETB is the state education and training authority for the Limerick and Clare region in Ireland. The authority plays a leading role in the provision of high quality education and training in the region. It achieves this by transforming the lives of our students, our learners and communities.
- Tipperary Education and Training Board: Tipperary ETB, is the statutory provider of a comprehensive range of quality education programmes developed to meet the needs of the community in Tipperary. These include Second Level/Post Primary Education, Post Leaving Certificate Programmes, Further Education and Training Services.
- Skillnet Ireland: Skillnet Ireland is a business support agency of the Government of Ireland,
responsible for advancing the competitiveness, productivity and innovation of businesses operating in Ireland through enterprise-led workforce development.
